The Red Lion Inn team has the experience and know-how to handle your every need – no matter how out of the ordinary. Our staff has a single-minded purpose – to make your visit as comfortable and special as possible.

Robert Mickey / General Manager

In his role of General Manager, Robert (Mick) focuses on leading the overall operation of the Inn while providing oversight and support to each and every member of the team. He brings 20 years of operational and management expertise to The Red Lion Inn. Prior to coming to the Berkshires, he served as Rooms Manager at Old Edwards Hospitality Group in Highlands, NC. He has also worked at a number of other prominent properties throughout the Southeast, including a stint as Vice President of Guest Relations at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV, and as Director of Room Operations at the Sea Island Company in St. Simons Island, GA.

Max Kiperman / Executive Chef

Chef Kiperman manages all of the Inn’s culinary operations. Carrying on a rich tradition that includes a focus on local ingredients and farm to table dining, his menus include contemporary American cuisine, as well as fresh twists on traditional New England fare. He graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and has been working in the food industry for over 25 years. His experience includes working with Michelin Star Chefs Tony Esnault in Boston, Alain Ducasse in Monte Carlo, and serving as Chef de Cuisine for the opening of Benoit French Bistro in New York City. Max comes to the Red Lion Inn from Lucca in Boston’s Back Bay.

Tim Eustis / Director of Wine and Bar

In his role as Director of Wine and Bar, Tim Eustis works closely with Chef Max Kiperman to ensure our wine and spirits program complements our menus, and offers opportunities for guests to explore new experiences. Tim Eustis has an extensive background in both wine and teaching. He has held numerous positions as a sommelier, wine buyer, journalist and curator of special events in New York City and Paris. He holds a masters from Columbia Teachers College and degrees from Wine & Spirits Education trust as well as the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Norman the Cat / Feline Ambassador

Perhaps the most visible, and valuable, member of our leadership team, this popular feline can usually be found hanging out in the lobby or wandering the halls of the Inn. His primary job is cozying up with guests and introducing them to the magic of The Red Lion. It’s a job he takes very seriously. And so do we. Keep an eye out for him because you never know when Norman just might show up.
