The Lion’s Tales

Periodically, we invite our guests to put pen to paper (or fingers to keypad) and send us an original tale for potential inclusion in our Bedtime Storybooks, which are provided to our guests at turndown. Over the years, these stories have run the gamut from cute to courageous, nostalgic to noteworthy, and through their publication have touched the hearts of guests and staff alike.

We are always overwhelmed by the results, and happy to offer the authors whose stories are selected a free overnight stay.

Tell us your story!

We will be looking for future stories at a later time this year. Keep in mind that:

All submissions must:

  • fit within the theme of “Most memorable Autumn experience in the Berkshires
  • contain 800–2000 words
  • include a visit to The Red Lion Inn & Stockbridge
  • be submitted prior to Friday, August 31, 2014

Please include a title, name, contact information, and word count at the top of the page.

Please note: we have had some truly excellent authors submit and win stories multiple times, however we would like to give other guests a chance at the prize, so we ask that if you have been a winner of our contest within the year prior to the submission deadline, please hold your story for a later contest.
