Where dinner is always a memorable experience
Surrounded by soft candlelight, crystal chandeliers, antique china and colonial pewter, The Red Lion Inn's main dining room is the perfect place to spend a romantic evening or mark a special occasion.
Executive Chef Brian J. Alberg's menus feature both traditional favorites and contemporary interpretations of New England cuisine, with many Berkshire grown and prepared foods. The Inn's exceptional wine list, which has received Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for seven consecutive years, offers more than 200 selections. And our knowledgeable and attentive staff ensures an exceptional dining experience.
While jackets and ties are always appreciated and appropriate for gentlemen in the Main Dining Room in the evening, they are no longer required, except on major holidays. Also, as fashion trends have become increasingly casual, we have struggled through the years to preserve the tradition of dressing for dinner. The difficulty arises when this code forces us to deny guests the pleasure of a nice meal with friends and family just because they have decided to wear jeans for their relaxing weekend in the country. This goes against every fiber of our ingrained sense of hospitality. For us, this became a question of accepting people for who they are, not what they are wearing. Our culture of extending a warm welcome to all far outweighs any tradition. For these reasons, we have eliminated the dress code in the Main Dining Room. Of course, we will always appreciate those who wish to dress appropriately for a fine dining experience, and we will maintain our "no-hats-and-no-muscle-or tank-top-shirts" stance.
Open every day of the year for breakfast, lunch and dinner. |
