Spend a night in a famous sculptor's studio!
Imagine a drive through Chesterwood, the former estate of Daniel Chester French to reach a secluded cottage! Historic Meadowlark, located a scenic three miles from the Inn, was once the "Little Studio" of this renowned American sculptor. French is best known for sculpting the famous seated Lincoln in Washington's Lincoln Memorial and The Minuteman in Concord, Massachusetts.
The living room retains the spacious, lofty quality of an artist's atelier and opens onto a deck with unsurpassed views of the Berkshire Hills. There are two bedrooms-one upstairs and one on the first floor-a small separate kitchen and one bathroom. Meadowlark has been renovated and made available to guests of The Red Lion Inn through a unique collaboration between the Inn and Chesterwood's owner, The National Trust for Historic Preservation. Meadowlark is available May through October.
