THE NORMAN ROCKWELL FIREHOUSE
Opened in October 2024, The Norman Rockwell Firehouse—our newest immersive guest experience created in partnership with The Norman Rockwell Museum—pays tribute to one of America’s most beloved illustrators and painters. Norman Rockwell called Stockbridge home for much of his life, and his legacy remains woven into the fabric of our town.
A 1-bedroom, 1.5-bath village house with a living room, dining area, and kitchen, the firehouse captures the warmth and nostalgia of Rockwell's evocative depictions of American life, featuring his paintings throughout.
CONNECTED TO HISTORY
First depicted in Rockwell’s painting The New American LaFrance is Here, the original Firehouse—with its iconic red door and proud bell tower—stood for decades as a landmark welcoming visitors to the Berkshires. When the town’s fire department relocated to a larger, modern station in the 1970s, the building continued its legacy as part of The Red Lion Inn’s campus. Today, the Firehouse has been thoughtfully reimagined to capture the warmth, nostalgia, and community spirit so often portrayed in Rockwell’s art.
THE FIREHOUSE
Guests will enjoy decor and furnishings inspired by Rockwell’s artwork and studio, complemented by vintage touches like classic fire trucks and antique typewriters.
GATHER, CELEBRATE & CONNECT
Immortalized in Norman Rockwell’s artwork, the Firehouse has been transformed into a distinctive event space where history and artistry meet modern elegance. With soaring ceilings, a striking red door, and refined design details, it offers a sophisticated backdrop for private dinners, meetings, and celebrations. For the ultimate in exclusivity and privacy, the entire Firehouse can be reserved, giving you and your guests a one-of-a-kind venue that’s entirely your own.
