As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we are proud to celebrate our own rich history — one shaped by hospitality, community, and timeless New England charm since 1773. From treasured archives and historical programming to the stories shared each day on our iconic Front Porch, we invite guests to experience history not only as something remembered, but as something still very much alive.
Upcoming Programming

The Fitz Gallery, located on the second floor of the Inn, is a wonderous haven for artists. With the freedom to paint the walls any color of their choosing to access to our guest rooms for residencies, the artists we invite are given the space to dream, design, create, and explore their artistic visions without limitation.
We welcome a new exhibit: The Red Lion Inn: Three Years Older Than America, a special showcase featuring 250 years of treasured archives, historic artifacts, photographs, memorabilia, and stories from The Red Lion Inn’s remarkable history.

In July, we will also host two special outdoor community presentations in our Courtyard, Voices of America: 250 Years Creating America, featuring Tony Award-winning talent in a celebratory reading honoring the individuals who helped shape our democracy from 1776 through today, from the Founding Fathers to present-day leaders. Guests and community members will gather for afternoons of conversation, celebration, food, drinks, music, and reflection as we revisit the ideals and enduring principles upon which our nation was founded.
